There are many benefits of eating fish regularly. It provides protein, lowers risk of heart attack, treats depression etc.
We all know that eating of fish is good for us. There are so many health benefits of eating fish. Researches show that fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids which keep various diseases under control. Let us focus on some of the health benefits of eating fish.

The cell membranes of fish contain omega-3s. As you eat fish daily, the amount of omega-3 increases in the blood stream. It allows serotonin, an antidepressant compound produced by the body, to be carried more readily to the different cells in the body. This leads to lower rates of depression.
Eating fish is useful for our heart and it also increases the resistance power of our body. HIV and AIDS patients should eat fish to enhance their resistance power. If you eat fish regularly, your inflammation can be decreased. People suffering from rheumatoid arthritis can get benefit by eating fish on a regular basis to reduce their pain.

Fish contains docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid. These two fatty acids make your skin healthy. If you eat fish regularly the moisture level of your skin will increase and it also helps in preventing acne and wrinkles.

Regular intake of fish helps in weight reduction and fat-burning, which is better than diet control and exercise. According to some studies, pregnant women should take fish regularly for the wellness of their baby as omega-3 fatty acid present in the fish builds human intellect. 1. Lowers risk of heart attacks

Heart attacks are one of the most common causes of untimely death in the world. Fish contains high amount of omega-3 fatty acids which are beneficial for heart and it lowers the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Omega-3 fatty acids are vital for growth and development. The docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is important for the development of eye and brain. Thus, pregnant and nursing women are advised to eat fish regularly. Pregnant women need to take 12 ounces per week and they should avoid uncooked and raw fish because these may cause harm of the fetus.

3. Increases grey matter in the brain

In old age the brain function deteriorates. Though it is normal in several cases, but some times it leads to Alzheimer’s disease. But, researches show that people those eat more fish have lower rate of Alzheimer’s. According to some studies, people who eat fish regularly have more grey matter in the brain which is responsible for memory and intellect.

Depression is a severe and common mental disorder. Now it is the major health problem in the world. Studies show that people who eat fish regularly are less likely to be depressed. Because omega-3 fatty acids work against depression.

5. Good source of vitamin D

Vitamin D functions as a steroid hormone in the body and fish is a best source of vitamin D. Herring and Salmon contain highest amount of vitamin D. Some fish oils are also high in vitamin D. People, who do not eat fish, should take vitamin D supplement.

6. Prevents asthma in children


Asthma occurs due to the chronic inflammation in the airways. According to some studies, if asthmatic children eat fish regularly their risk of asthma can be lowered. But it has not been found in adults.
